Carpet affected due to water intrusion
10/7/2019 (Permalink)
When water affects carpet in a home, there is most likely padding underneath the carpet that had soaked up moisture from the water damage. In this case you cannot simply dry to carpet and call it a day. When the under laying padding gets affected by water, it must be removed. The reason to this is because the padding is meant to soak up the moisture, and keep it contained within the padding to prevent a further spread of water throughout the home. Thus when wet must be removed and replaced. Carpet can be dried if in good condition and re applied after the drying process is complete.
